Synopsis:

This movie is featuring a maremma dog named Oddball that was supposed to guard chickens for farmer Allan Marsh was quite not performing his designed task until Allan brings home an injured penguin.Oddball have strong affection for penguins and it performs well on taking care of the penguins. As local penguin sanctuary was declining in numbers, Allan and his granddaughter decide to train Oddball as the "security personnel" of the island where penguins live.

Review:

The movie had a smooth-flowing storyline with reasonable but predictable climax. It emphasises on the importance to handle human relationships. In the movie, Allan's wife devoted her entire life to take care of the penguins, which was then carried on by her daughter. However, Allan didn't bother to continue her wife's lifetime work and it became the major problem of Allan and his daughters. It tells me that understanding is the most important part in the human relationships. Also, I think the moral of story is that everyone is good at something. In the context of the movie, oddball was supposedly a watchdog for chickens but he couldn't fulfil his duties. However, he helped Allan protect the penguins and saved her daughter's job. The movie is telling people that everybody has their own strengths in certain areas. I watched this movie because I really likes animals and I went to the penguin's island in Melbourne last year. When I knew that this movie is a true story, I felt really  SAD because I've seen these cute penguins before, so I was touched by the ending when Oddball saved penguins and their egg. Overall, This is a touching yet humorous film and it has a happy ending, I think everyone should watch this to just relax!!! also people who likes animals should definitely watch it because penguins and ODDBALL are really cute.
