The clash between differing perceptions have resulted in war. To us humans, arcade games are simply a form of entertainment machine. However, from the aliens’ point of view, the use of these arcade games are understood as the proclamation of war initiated by human kind towards aliens. Will Cooper (Kevin James) acting as the president of America, realizes that the only way to win this war is to recruit his old friend Sam Benner (Adam Sandler) a world runner up video game champion, to assist in combating the war.

Review:

What motivated me to see this movie was Adam Sandler. In my point of view, he is a great actor having starred in a series of Comedy movies such as Grown Ups, Click, Blended & Happy Gilmore. HOWEVER, this is by far the worst movie I have ever watched! It is over the top, too far-fetched, and very ‘unrealistic’. Yes, I did expect that this movie would be very illogical judging by the movie name and its’ cover, but WOW, the level of absurdity still managed to surprise me. It was almost laughable. Nevertheless, in retrospective, this review is highly influenced by my individual way of thinking: if it’s not logical to me, it’s not logical to all – meaning, I cannot accept something for the way it is, unless it is logical to me; and because this movie was the very opposite of ‘logical’, I found it ridiculously boring. Consequently, if you have a similar way of thinking, I would NOT recommend you to watch this movie. However, if you enjoy video games, science fiction, animation, etc., by all means see it.

RATING (out of 5):

*

Additional Comments: I watched this movie at Heddon Greta’s Drive in Movies. It was my first time and I had a really good night! Would recommend everyone to experience a drive in movies at least once in their life! (10x more exciting than the regular movie theaters).
